Jason Michael Lee (born April 25, 1970) is an American actor, comedian, filmmaker, singer, photographer, and former professional skateboarder. He's known for his role as Earl Hickey on the NBC television series My Name Is Earl, Dwight Hendricks inĀ Memphis BeatĀ (2010–2011), voice of Syndrome in the film The Incredibles, Dave Seville in the Alvin and the Chipmunks films, and his work with director Kevin Smith. His roles inĀ Kevin SmithĀ films includeĀ Mallrats,Ā Chasing Amy,Ā Dogma,Ā Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back,Ā Jersey Girl,Ā Clerks II, andĀ Cop Out. Lee won theĀ Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting MaleĀ for his performance inĀ Chasing Amy. His other notable film roles include starring inĀ Enemy of the State,Ā Almost Famous, Vanilla Sky,Ā Stealing Harvard,Ā A Guy ThingĀ andĀ The Ballad of Jack and Rose.
