Orang Igbo (bahasa Inggris: /หษชษกboส/; ejaan yang salah Ibo,[3][4] sebelumnya juga dieja Iboe, Ebo, Eboe,[5] Eboa,[6] Heebo;[7]) adalah kelompok etnis yang berasal dari wilayah Nigeria selatan-tengah dan tenggara. Secara geografis, Sungai Niger membelah tanah air Igbo menjadi dua, yaitu bagian timur (yang lebih besar) dan barat.[8][9] Suku Igbo merupakan salah satu kelompok etnis terbesar di Afrika.[10]
Suku Igbo menuturkan bahasa Igbo yang terbagi menjadi beberapa dialek regional.[11]
Di wilayah pedesaan Nigeria, suku Igbo sebagian besar berprofesi sebagai seorang perajin, petani dan pedagang. Hasil panen utama mereka adalah ubi rambat.[12] Hasil panen lainnya adalah singkong dan talas.[13] Suku Igbo juga sangat terurbanisasi. Beberapa kota besar di Igboland adalah Onitsha, Enugu, Aba, Owerri, Orlu, Okigwe, Asaba, Awka, Nsukka, Nnewi, Umuahia, Abakaliki, Afikpo, Agbor dan Arochukwu.
Sebelum masa penjajahan Britania pada abad ke-20, suku Igbo terpecah belah menjadi beberapa negara, seperti Nri, Arochukwu, Agbor dan Onitsha.[14] Mereka tidak terlalu terkenal dampak jihad Islam di Nigeria utara pada abad ke-19, sehingga mayoritas orang Igbo mulai memeluk agama Kristen pada masa penjajahan. Setelah Nigeria merdeka, suku Igbo mengembangkan identitas etnis yang kuat.[13] Pada masa Perang Saudara Nigeria pada tahun 1967โ1970, wilayah-wilayah Igbo sempat memisahkan diri menjadi Republik Biafra.[15] MASSOB, organisasi sektarian yang dibentuk pada tahun 1999, meneruskan perjuangan kemerdekaan Igbo tanpa menggunakan kekerasan.[16]
Selain di Nigeria, populasi Igbo juga dapat ditemui di negara Kamerun[17] dan Guinea Khatulistiwa,[18] serta di luar Afrika.
