Adam Kasia (Classical Mandaic: ࡀࡃࡀࡌ ࡊࡀࡎࡉࡀ, pelafalan dalam bahasa Mandaik Modern: [ˈɑdam ˈkæsjæ]; juga dirujuk menggunakan portmanteau Adakas ࡀࡃࡀࡊࡀࡎ atau Adakas Ziwa dalam Ginza Rabba[1]) berarti "Adam yang tersembunyi" dalam Manda.[2] Adam yang tersembunyi juga disebut Adam Qadmaiia (ࡀࡃࡀࡌ ࡒࡀࡃࡌࡀࡉࡉࡀ, "Adam Pertama").[2] Dalam Mandaeisme, istilah ini berarti jiwa manusia pertama.[3] Ia juga diidentifikasi sebagai Shishlam, imam primordial.[4]
Di kalangan Mandaean, Adam Kasia berarti jiwa setiap manusia.[2][5][6] Adam Kasia menunjukkan banyak kesamaan dengan gagasan Yahudi tentang Adam Kadmon.[7]
Nama lain
suntingDoa-doa dalam Qulasta, seperti Asut Malkia, juga menyebut Adam sebagai "Adam Manusia Pertama" (Adam Gabra Qadmaiia).[8] The Thousand and Twelve Questions, sebuah naskah imamat Mandaean, juga menyebut Adam Kasia sebagai Adam-S'haq[9] ('Adam-terang'), Adam-S'haq-Ziwa,[3] atau Adam-S'haq-Rba, yang digambarkan sebagai ayah dari Shishlam, purwarupa (arkeotipe) Mandaean prototipe.[10]
Hawa
