Ann Rae Rule (née Stackhouse; 22 Oktober 1931 – 26 Juli 2015) adalah seorang penulis buku dan artikel kriminal Amerika Serikat.
Dia terkenal karena menulis The Stranger Beside Me (1980), buku tentang pembunuh berantai Ted Bundy, teman Rule. Rule juga dikenal karena bukunya Small Sacrifices, tentang pembunuh anak di Oregon, Diane Downs. Banyak buku Rule berpusat pada kasus pembunuhan yang terjadi di Pasifik Barat Laut dan negara bagian Washington.[1]
Kehidupan awal
suntingAnn Rae Stackhouse lahir pada tanggal 22 Oktober 1931, di Lowell, Michigan.[2][3] Dia adalah salah satu dari dua anak Sophie Marie (Hansen) dan Chester R. Stackhouse. Ibunya adalah seorang guru, yang mengkhususkan diri pada anak-anak cacat perkembangan, dan ayahnya adalah seorang pelatih sepak bola dan atletik. Seperti yang dilakukan Rule selama masa dewasa muda, anggota keluarganya memiliki karier di bidang penegakan hukum. Kakek dan paman Rule adalah sheriff di Michigan.
