Santo Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin[a] yang juga dikenal sebagai Juan Diegotzil (1474โ1548), atau dalam bahasa Indonesia Santo Yohanes Yakobus, seorang asli dari Meksiko, adalah santo pribumi Katolik Roma pertama dari benua Amerika.[b] Ia berkata bahwa mengalami penampakan Bunda Maria pada empat kesempatan terpisah pada Desember 1531 di bukit Tepeyac, yang pada waktu itu berada di luar tetapi sekarang terkenal di metropolitan Mexico City.
Basilika Guadalupe sekarang menjadi pusat peziarahan utama untuk umat Katolik Roma di dunia, yang meraih 22 juta pengunjung pada 2010.[3][c] Juan Diego dibeatifikasi pada 1990, dan dikanonisasi pada 2002.
