High Speed 2 (HS2) adalah kereta berkecepatan tinggi yang sedang dibangun di Inggris, tahap pertama sedang dibangun secara bertahap dan dijadwalkan selesai antara tahun 2029-2033, bergantung pada persetujuan untuk tahap selanjutnya. Jalur baru akan membentang dari ujung selatan London ke utara di Manchester, dengan cabang ke Birmingham dan East Midlands. HS2 akan menjadi jalur berkecepatan tinggi kedua yang dibuat khusus untuk tujuan Inggris, yang pertama adalah High Speed 1, yang menghubungkan London ke Terowongan Channel.

Lord Berkeley, wakil ketua Oakervee Review, menyatakan bahwa biaya proyek diperkirakan mencapai £170 miliar.^[4] Hingga tahun 2020, anggaran yang ditetapkan oleh DfT adalah £98 miliar.^[5]
