Garangan ekor putih (Ichneumia albicauda) adalah sebuah spesies garangan pada famili Herpestidae. Spesies ini menjadi satu-satunya anggota genus Ichneumia.[3] Spesies ini memiliki berat 18 hingga 52 kg (40 hingga 115 pon), dengan berat rata-rata 3,38 kg (7,5 pon), memiliki panjang kepala-tubuh yaitu 53 hingga 71 cm (21 hingga 28 in) dan panjang ekor yaitu 40 hingga 47 cm (16 hingga 19 in).[4][5][6][7][8]
Taksonomi
suntingHerpestes albicaudus merupakan nama ilmiah yang diusulkan oleh Georges Cuvier pada 1829 untuk mendeskripsikan sebuah spesies garangan dengan ekor putih dari Senegal.[9] Nama genusnya Ichneumia diciptakan oleh Isidore Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire pada 1837.[10]
