Michael Lorenzo Urie (lahir 8 Agustus 1980) adalah seorang aktor asal Amerika Serikat. Ia dikenal karena perannya sebagai Marc St. James dalam serial drama komedi televisi ABC, Ugly Betty, dan Brian dalam serial Apple TV+, Shrinking. Berkat perannya di Shrinking, ia memenangkan Critics Choice Television Award untuk Aktor Pendukung Terbaik dan nominasi Primetime Emmy Award untuk Aktor Pendukung Luar Biasa dalam Serial Komedi.[1]
Kehidupan awal
suntingMichael Lorenzo Urie lahir di Houston, Texas, dan dibesarkan di Plano. Ia merupakan keturunan Skotlandia dan Italia.[2][3] Ia lulus dari SMA Plano pada tahun 1998.[4]
Urie kemudian belajar di Collin County Community College sebelum diterima di Sekolah Juilliard di New York City.[4] Selama di Juilliard, ia menjadi anggota Drama Division's Group 32 dari tahun 1999 hingga 2003.[5] Urie lulus dari Juilliard pada tahun 2003.[4]
Kehidupan pribadi
suntingPada tahun 2009, Urie menyebut dirinya sebagai "anggota komunitas LGBT" di situs webnya.[6] Dalam sebuah wawancara tahun 2010 dengan The Advocate, ia mengatakan bahwa ia menjalin hubungan dengan seorang pria dan merupakan seorang queer. Ia mengatakan bahwa sebelumnya ia tidak pernah merasa salah ketika bersama perempuan.[7] Sejak tahun 2008, ia menjalin hubungan dengan aktor dan penulis Ryan Spahn.[8]
