Pfeiffera adalah genus tumbuhan berbunga dalam keluarga Cactaceae, yang ditemukan di Bolivia dan Argentina barat laut.[1] Terdapat beberapa perdebatan mengenai delimitasi genus ini. Genus ini ditempatkan dalam suku Echinocereeae.[2]
Nama genus Pfeiffera diambil untuk menghormati Ludwig Karl Georg Pfeiffer (1805–1877), seorang dokter, botanis, dan konkolog asal Jerman.[3] Genus ini pertama kali dideskripsikan dan diterbitkan dalam Cact. Hort. Dyck., edt. 1844 pada halaman 40 pada tahun 1845.[1]
