Proper Dose adalah album studio keempat oleh grup musik pop punk Amerika Story So Far. Album ini dirilis pada tanggal 21 September 2018, melalui Pure Noise Records.[1] Album ini adalah album terakhir grup ini dengan pemain bas Kelen Capener, yang mengumumkan kepergiannya pada tahun 2022.
Latar belakang
suntingProper Dose direkam di The Panda Studios di Fremont, California, dan The Farm Studios di Gibsons, British Columbia. Sam Pura bertugas sebagai produser dan rekayasawan dengan bantuan dari Tyler Shane Rodriquez, Karl Dicaire, dan Ryan Ellery. Pemain drum Ryan Torf melakukan rekayasa tambahan pada lagu-lagu tersebut. Eric Valentine memadukan (mixing) rekaman tersebut dengan bantuan Michael Carrey di Studio Topangadise di Topanga, California, sebelum album tersebut diinduki (master) oleh Brian Gardner di Lake Arrowhead, California.[2]
Perilisan
suntingSebelum album Proper Dose dirilis, dua singel (single) telah dirilis pada 20 Agustus 2018: "Upside Down" dan "Take Me as You Please".[3] Video musik untuk "Upside Down" dirilis pada tanggal 21 September[4] Proper Dose terjual sebanyak 18.248 salinan murni di minggu pertama perilisannya dan memulai debut di peringkat 19 di tangga lagu Billboard 200.[5] Pada bulan April 2019, The Story So Far melakukan tur Australia dengan grup musik Basement.[6]
