Pain adalah grup musik dari Swedia yang menggabungkan heavy metal dengan pengaruh dari musik elektronik dan techno. Grup ini dimulai sebagai grup hobi dari pentolan Peter Tägtgren, yang idenya adalah menggabungkan heavy metal dengan pengaruh elektro-industri dan techno yang terinspirasi tahun 1980-an. Tägtgren, yang juga vokalis / gitaris Hypocrisy dan produser studio The Abyss miliknya, adalah satu-satunya anggota saat ini.
Sejarah

Debut self-title Pain dirilis pada 1997, dan sejak itu Pain telah merilis enam album dan DVD lagi. Dimulai dengan yang kedua, semua album Pain telah masuk tangga lagu Swedia, sebagian besar berkat single hit seperti "End of the Line", "Shut Your Mouth", dan "Same Old Song". Pada awal Februari 2006, Blabbermouth.net melaporkan bahwa Pain telah menandatangani kontrak dengan Roadrunner Records. Saat ini, Pain berada di bawah Nuclear Blast Records.
Pada tahun 2008, Pain sedang tur sebagai pemain pendukung dari Nightwish. Selama tur penyanyi Peter Tägtgren, drummer David Wallin, dan bassis Johan Husgafvel diserang oleh sebuah geng di Leipzig. Tägtgren menerima 10 jahitan di wajahnya, Wallin menderita gegar otak dan jahitan di kepalanya, dan hidung Husgafvel patah.
Pain mendukung Nightwish pada paruh kedua Dark Passion Play World Tour, bersama dengan band pop rock Finlandia Indica, dimulai dengan pertunjukan pertama di London, Inggris pada 11 Maret 2009. Pain merilis album ketujuh mereka, You Only Live Twice, pada tanggal 3 Juni 2011 melalui Nuclear Blast Records. Mereka merilis album studio kedelapan mereka yang berjudul Coming Home pada 9 September 2016.
