"Adam yang akhir" merupakan sebuah gelar yang diberikan kepada Yesus dalam Perjanjian Baru.[1][2] Gelar yang juga merujuk kepada Yesus meliputi Adam Kedua dan Adam Baru. John MacArthur menyamakan Adam yang akhir dengan Adam Kedua.[3]
Kedua gelar dalam Perjanjian Baru tersebut merupakan sebuah perbandingan eksplisit yang dibuat antara Yesus dan Adam. Dalam Roma 5:12โ21, Paulus menyatakan bahwa "Jadi sama seperti oleh ketidaktaatan satu orang semua orang telah menjadi orang berdosa, demikian pula oleh ketaatan satu orang semua orang menjadi orang benar." (Roma 5:19). Dalam 1 Korintus 15:22, Paulus menyatakan bahwa "Karena sama seperti semua orang mati dalam persekutuan dengan Adam, demikian pula semua orang akan dihidupkan kembali dalam persekutuan dengan Kristus," sementara pada ayat 45 ia berkata bahwa Yesus adalah "Adam yang akhir".
John Henry Newman menggunakan frasa "Adam Kedua" dalam himnenya "Praise to the Holiest in the height" (bahasa Indonesia: Pujilah yang Tersuci setinggi-tingginya), yang pertama kali muncul dalam The Dream of Gerontius:
